The Ins and Outs of Lake Macquarie

Posted by Mrs Scooter | General Info | Posted on May 12th, 2010

This ride will be suitable for ALL scooters 50cc and beyond with maximum speeds of 80km (unless going downhill with a tail wind)!
Please ring Judy on 0431 778 245 to advise you will be coming as I will need to make a booking at the planned lunch stop.
Meet at Speers Point, Park Road, near the Speers Point Swimming complex, opposite the Amenity block with full tanks of fuel at 0930 for a 1000 departure.
From Speers Point we will head south over the Five Islands Bridge and then follow the Ins and Outs of the Lake as much as possible.
Morning tea/coffee will be on the Morisset Peninsular where those with smaller fuel tank capacities might like to top them up.
After leaving Morisset we go to the south of the Lake and to Summerland Point for gourmet pizza/pasta by the Lake.
Once back on the Pacific Highway keep an eye out for glimpses of the ocean as we head north towards Swansea and Belmont.
Here, riders can continue on around the east side of the Lake and go to the north of the Lake back to Speers Point, or, go their own way home.
The anticipated distance will be 110kms, approximately
Looking forward to seeing as many helmets/scooters as possible for a fun day

Gloucester Scones, Jam & Cream Ride

Posted by Mrs Scooter | Events, Rides | Posted on April 1st, 2010

Date: Sunday 11th April 2010
Where: Meet at Macca’s at Hexham at 10.00 a.m. for a ride departure at 10.30 a.m.
Take a leisurely ride Via Hexham, the Pacific Highway and then Bucketts way to Gloucester arriving in time for some delicious scones, jam & cream at around 12 noon.
The ride is intended for a maximum speed of 80 kph to cater for the smaller scoots
At some later stage (when all the chat concludes) we reverse our direction and head home giving a total distance travelled for the ride of 217 kms.
A nice easy day out in good company.

I’d be more than happy to ride back with the slower group via the Bucketts Way.

Option B can include a return journey from Gloucester via Nabiac and the Pacific Highway (for those scoots that like travelling at highway speeds). This round trip journey Hexham – Gloucester – Nabiac – Hexham will add up to around 287 kms.
