Posted by Mrs Scooter | Scooter Classifieds Buy & Sell | Posted on March 8th, 2010

Anne Marchant of Merewether is selling her scooter.
It is a Bolwell/Sym HD200 with only 400km’s on the clock. Yes that’s right only 400km’s.
Rego until July 2010. It is Silver in colour and in addition to the generous underseat storage it also comes with a topbox.
All this for only $4200
According to Anne it easily does 100km/h with pillions being no effort for the scooter. Reg: SFL06 Phone Anne on  0408 433304
Nothing wrong the scooter, Anne just hasn’t gotten into scootering as she’d hoped.

Aprilia in Switzerland

Aprilia in Switzerland

Following on from Scooters in Switzerland, here we have an Aprilia Mojito 150 adding style to an already stylish European setting. You will notice in most, if not all of these photos, cobblestone streets. We are unfamiliar with this road environment here in Australia and you must wonder what it is like to ride theses surfaces day after day.

Super-Visors – A Review by Rider Judy

Posted by Mrs Scooter | Product Reviews | Posted on February 3rd, 2010

I would like to make a comment about Super Visors. Super Visors are available from the Motorcycle Warehouse in Newcastle, cost about $40, are relatively easy to attach to the visor of the helmet and are the most wonderful way of keeping the sun out of the rider’s eyes.
The most important part of the attachment process is to make sure that the height is correct for the individual user and I found that I needed another person to make the marks on my visor for  this process. Once this is done the hard work is over apart from waiting the 72 hours for the glue to cure.
I find in rain that the water droplets sit on the lower rim of the visor but they don’t obscure my vision.
I also find that the helmet noise has been lessened with the visor and that for me is a big plus.

The Super-Visor is available from Amazon.com Super Visors A Review by Rider Judy, or from Newcastle Motorcycle Wholesale.

The address of the Newcastle Motorcycle Wholesale P/L is 4b Lang Road, BROADMEADOW 2292  and their phone is 0249579866, find more here Super Visors A Review by Rider Judy.

Scooters in Switzerland

A friend of Hunter Scooter Riders recently returned from Switzerland and was kind enough to take some scooter pictures while she was away. This particular shot was taken in Lugarno, one of the Italian parts of Switzerland near the end of summer. The Italian part of Switzerland is naturally very Italian and that means lots of scooters buzzing around on the cobblestone streets. More photos to come.

IMG 0015 1024x768 About Scooters

We all remember the scene from “Roman Holiday” as Audrey Hepburn sits behind Gregory Peck zooming in and out of Rome’s beautiful laneways

Italy was where scooters became a serious form of transport when Enrico Piaggio was entrusted to take his aeroplane manufacturing company and design an economical form of transport for Italians after the Second Word War.

That was in 1946 and since then scooters have gone from strength to strength around the world.
Australia has also adopted this viable form of transport as our roads become increasingly congested, fuel prices rise and car parking is now an expensive luxury.
They’re also a fun way to get about and meet like-minded people such as us here at Hunter Scooter Riders.

Scooter Definition:

A scooter is a fully automatic two wheel (but not always – think Piaggio MP3) vehicle with a step floor however there are some variations.

As scooters have evolved some have moved to a sportier look that is closer in appearance to a motorcycle (think Yamaha’s T-Max) whilst others have maintained their origins and kept their manual gearboxes.

Scooters vary from 50cc “about towners” through to 650cc highway cruising machines (Suzuki Burgman 650) with enough performance to keep any rider happy.

The styles we all know, with a step floor (to protect us from the road’s surface and wet weather) and “twist and go” automatic transmissions are available in all sizes, shapes and colours. There are many to choose from to suit any rider’s requirements.
